Pediatric & Adolescent Health

Early Childhood & School-Age
(Ages 2–12):
Well-child check-ins and developmental milestone review
Immunization schedule review and coordination with local pediatricians or pharmacies for administration
Common childhood concerns: asthma, allergies, eczema, recurring ear infections, stomach aches, and sleep difficulties
Behavioral and emotional concerns: anxiety, attention difficulties, adjustment to school or family changes
Nutrition and growth guidance: picky eating, healthy weight, and age-appropriate activity
School physicals coordination: we order and review necessary components and coordinate with in-person partners for any hands-on requirements
Adolescents & Teens (Ages 13–17):
Confidential health conversations in a safe, non-judgmental space (with parental involvement as developmentally appropriate)
Mental and emotional health screening: anxiety, depression, stress, social media impact, body image, and self-esteem
Menstrual health education and cycle concerns for teen girls — because irregular or painful periods in adolescence deserve investigation, not dismissal
Nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle guidance during puberty and growth phases
Chronic condition management: asthma, diabetes, thyroid, and other conditions with age-appropriate education and shared decision-making
Acne and skin health: evaluation and management of common adolescent skin concerns
Sports physicals and activity clearance: coordinated with in-person partners when hands-on examination is needed
College and transition-of-care planning: helping older teens prepare to manage their own health as they approach adulthood
What to Know About Telehealth for Minors:
Parent or guardian presence required: a parent or legal guardian must be present for all telehealth visits with patients under 18
In-person needs are coordinated: physical exams requiring hands-on evaluation (e.g., sports physicals, ear exams, growth assessments) are coordinated with local partners in Maryland
Immunizations and lab work: ordered through local facilities, with results reviewed during follow-up telehealth visits
Privacy for adolescents: for older teens, we balance age-appropriate confidentiality with parental involvement, following Maryland law and clinical best practice
Emergency care: Anchor Health does not provide emergency or urgent pediatric care. Families are directed to emergency services when needed
At Anchor Health, we believe children and teens deserve the same unhurried, thoughtful care we provide adults. Pediatric primary care via telehealth focuses on building a longitudinal relationship with the family — one where questions are welcomed, concerns are tracked over time, and referrals are made thoughtfully when in-person services are needed.
When your child is ready to transition to adult care, we are already here. No new practice, no new intake, no starting over. That continuity is the heart of family primary care.
