Women’s Health Across Life Stages

Women’s health at Anchor Health is grounded in clinical evidence, not trends. We support women across life stages — from reproductive years through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond — with primary care that takes time to understand hormonal, metabolic, and life-stage transitions.

At Anchor Health, women’s health is not a referral — it is part of how we practice primary care. Rather than sending you to a specialist for every hormonal or reproductive concern, we evaluate these issues in the context of your full health picture: your metabolism, your stress, your sleep, your medications, and your life stage. When in-person gynecologic care is needed, we coordinate with trusted partners and stay involved in your care.

Reproductive Years (Teens Through Mid-40s):

Menstrual cycle concerns: irregular periods, heavy bleeding, painful periods, PMS
Contraception counseling and management (hormonal and non-hormonal options)
Preconception health and optimizing health before pregnancy
Postpartum transitions and coordination with OB/GYN when needed
Sexual health concerns that can be safely evaluated via telemedicine
Your menstrual cycle is a vital sign. Abnormalities deserve investigation. We address reproductive health within comprehensive primary care and coordinate in-person gynecologic exams or procedures when they are needed.

Perimenopause & Menopause (40s–60s+):

Hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disruption
Mood changes, anxiety, and irritability
Brain fog and fatigue
Weight and metabolic shifts
Changes in libido and sexual comfort
Cardiovascular risk and bone health discussions
Shared decision-making regarding lifestyle strategies for sleep, nutrition, movement, and targeted stress reduction to support hormonal balance.
Many women are told that perimenopause and menopausal symptoms are “just aging.” These symptoms have biological explanations and are highly treatable. Telehealth visits focus on careful history, risk assessment, and shared decision-making about options.

Options may include:

Hormone therapy (when appropriate and safe)
Non-hormonal medications for vasomotor symptoms or mood
Lifestyle strategies for sleep, stress, nutrition, and movement

Postmenopause & Aging (60s+):

Ongoing menopause symptom management
Cardiovascular risk assessment and preventive strategies
Bone health, falls risk, and screening
Cognitive health concerns and referrals when needed
Pelvic floor concerns, with coordination for in-person care when appropriate
When a physical pelvic exam, procedure, or imaging is needed, we coordinate with local gynecology and primary care partners in Maryland. Telehealth provides continuity; in-person care is arranged when required by the standard of care.
